We've all heard urban legends about when is best to book your flight, but a new study by Expedia and Airlines Reporting Corporation indicates that 2017 will bring lower prices and better deals for airline passengers. According to Chuck Thackston, ARC’s managing director of enterprise information "All the data show is no matter how you look at it, it’s a great time to fly.” Based on the extensive data, gathered from billions tickets purchased over the past year, the best day to buy airline tickets is Sunday. While the weekends are a good time to purchase, Friday shows a significant increase in flight bookings, which might make getting the seat you want more difficult. Saturday nights are an especially good time to ticket hunt, according to the numbers. In addition to falling prices, research shows that the best time to book your flight is three weeks out, or more. Savvy travelers may find discounts of up to 30% or more when booking at least 21 days in advance. And, while you're at it, go ahead and book your hotel and rental car for the trip.
