Our luxury vacation rentals and real estate boosts Port Aransas’ recovery from Hurricane Harvey, as Cinnamon Shore breaks ground on big expansion.

As we move into 2019, we’d like to pay tribute to 2018 — a remarkable year. Despite starting 2018 with Port Aransas still recovering from Hurricane Harvey, Cinnamon Shore saw a 123% increase in guests who stayed with us. Reports of storm damage did not keep Texans from coming to the beach!

Plus, our home sales were significantly higher in 2018 than in 2017 — with our most homesites sold in one day ever, topping an incredible $11 million. What’s more, home values here appreciated, as they always do

A big draw

With its reputation as the premier seaside village on the Texas Coast, Cinnamon Shore drew repeat visitors in 2018 and lured newcomers to Port Aransas. They came from metro areas within easy driving distance and beyond, and they dined, fished, and shopped — all of which helped the city recover from Harvey. Guests enjoyed excursions into town, but also relaxed right here at Cinnamon Shore, in charming beach homes, on a beautiful beach, at gorgeous pools, and at Lisabella’s Bistro. 

A big win for Lisabella’s 

In November, Spencer Cox, head chef and partner at Lisabella’s Bistro, took 5th Place at the 7th Annual World Food Championships™ held in Orange Beach, Alabama. Competing against 500 teams from 12 countries and 40 U.S. states, according to the Port Aransas South Jetty, Cox put the culinary world on notice that some of the world’s best cuisine is right here at Cinnamon Shore. 

A growth surge at Cinnamon Shore North

We saw construction begin and plans develop for beautiful new cottage clusters, like the Sunset Cottages and Fountain Plaza Cottages. We built the Market Street Penthouses atop our new retail row. And our newest residential building, Tradewinds Outpost, went up along Town Center. It features eight luxury, multi-story residences with custom interiors, just waiting for the right homeowners. We’ll release Tradewinds Outpost homes and the Fountain Plaza Cottages for the first time at our Winter Reveal, Jan. 19th.  

A way to better accommodate guests and homeowners

With such high demand for staying in a Cinnamon Shore home in 2018 , our vacation rental revenue was up 41% over our best year prior to that. To better service homeowners who want to allow guests to book their beach homes while they’re away, we introduced our Homeowner Success Team last year. It provides individual care and attention for homeowners, helping them through the rental program process. Plus, we launched a new web site to make it easier for potential guests to discover our community and to find the best place for their family to stay. 

A groundbreaking move

Perhaps our biggest move of 2018 was breaking ground on the first phase of our sister community, Cinnamon Shore South, located just one mile away. At The Grand Unveiling in October, we welcomed almost 20 Founding Neighbors who invested in property – and in their families’ futures. It’s not too late to take advantage of pre-plat pricing! A helping hand

Our community stepped up big to help Port Aransas recover from Hurricane Harvey, serving as a founding partner in the New Day Port A fund. By the end of 2018, Cinnamon Shore had directly contributed $500,00 of the fund, which has raised a total of $2.38 million to help Port A businesses, workers, churches, homeowners, and schools. 

A promising start to the New Year

The year closed with holiday lights glimmering off Colby Lake. There are bonfires to be built on the beach this January. But we know the Texas sun will shine brighter than ever in 2019.
