A Sand Spectacle on the Beaches of Port Aransas 

From intricate sculptures made of sand by the experts to sandal-stomping fun on the beach with live music and more, you'll have a blast at the Texas SandFest 2020--now scheduled for Oct. 2-4, 2020. It's one of the largest beach fests in the U.S., bringing beach lovers together to watch master sculptors and semi-pros at work. Plus, there's music, food trucks, a family and amateur competition, and more!

We're proud to help bring this beachfront spectacular to Port A, and marvel along with you at the featured sculptors invited to participate. They take building a sand castle seriously. These sculptors are more artists than anything -- drawn to the feel of the sand, to the tools that help them carve elaborate creations, and to the experience of performing for beachgoers on breezy beaches across the country and around the world.The families who stay with us at Cinnamon Shore for the event also love the SandFest's amateur contest, where families can get their hands dirty. Plus, there's food and music to keep you entertained all weekend! Read on for the lowdown.

Starting small

The Texas SandFest started in 1997 as a small event, but has grown into an internationally celebrated, 3-day family competition. We'll update details about which international sand sculpting stars will perform on the Port Aransas beach--now that the event moved from April to October due to the pandemic.

Live Music: All Genres, All Weekend

Typically, live Music at the Texas Sand Fest is located between mile markers 9-13, with a mix of acts that ranges from classic rock and the blues on Friday to fun cover bands. In between, enjoy other eclectic groups and solo artists.

Live Music at Cinnamon Shore 

Cinnamon Shore usually plans great music on our outdoor stage, Terry's Place, to coincide with SandFest and encourages guests staying here to check out the festivities just a few miles down the beach, then return to the quiet haven of our community to rest and relax.

Food and Fun

In addition to shaved ice vendors and food booths, you'll find plenty to keep you hydrated and nourished while walking among the sculptors to marvel at their work or to head back to the music stages to enjoy the tunes! We'll update the lineup as it becomes available.

More Family Activities 

 In addition to the amateur sand castle contest, SandFest usually provide plenty of kid fun. In 2019, the kids braved a giant, inflatable Hippo Slide on the beach or tried the Trampoline Bungee.

Wristbands will be for sale at the SandFest entry points, usually held between mile markers 9 and 13.
