Regulations set a limit of 15 birds per hunter---but there's no limit to the memories you'll make.
The South Texas dove hunting season kicks off Sept. 14, 2024--a great time to combine beach vacation with stellar mornings and afternoons looking for the doves to fly over.

Prime Coastal Hunting Grounds
Along brackish waters and salty inlets of Mustang Island where out team will take you, the mourning doves and white-tailed species thrive. In fact, Texas Parks and Wildlife just released news that populations have never been higher for the white-tailed population in Texas.
In general, the Lone Star State accounts for 30 percent of the total mourning doves and 85 percent of the total white-winged doves harvested in the U.S. each year, far more than any other state, says TPWD.
So, we like your chances of a great afternoon shooting along the coast near Cinnamon Shore!
Choose a Morning or Afternoon Time Slot
Mustang Island Adventures offers two times for your hunting adventure: Morning: 6:30am – 10:00am; Evening: 4:30pm – 7:30pm
Then you can return to our seaside village to relax in the luxe accommodations, hang out by the pools, or stroll along the beach.
Tips for a Successful Hunt
The team at Mustang Island Adventures is prepared to help experienced and novice dove hunters have a great experience in the wild. But keep these tips from TPWD in mind:
• Prepare for the heat. Even in the fall season the coastal hunting grounds in Texas can have famously high temperatures.
• Pack all the essentials for a day in the field. From the eye and ear protection to the right footwear (leave your flip-flops in the beach house!), ensure everyone in your group is prepared. Making it convenient for you, Mustang Island Adventures supplies:
- Waters and Gatorade
- Seating at Each Blind
- Rides to and from Designated Hunting Area (On Hunting Property Only)
- Dove Decoys
- Shell Pickup Stick
- Bug Spray & Sunscreen
- Covered Hang-Out Area Before and After Hunt
- Dove Cleaning and Packaging of Meat.
• Keep canine hunting partners hydrated, as well! Lucky for you, Cinnamon Shore welcomes retrievers and other dogs with pet-friendly accommodations. But remember to take a water bowl for your dog when heading out for the hunt.

- North Zone: Sept. 1-Nov. 10, resuming Dec. 20, 2024 – Jan. 7, 2025
- Central Zone: Sept. 1-Oct. 27, resuming Dec. 13, 2024 – Jan. 14, 2025
- South Zone: Sept. 14-Oct. 27, resuming Dec. 13, 2024 – Jan. 21, 2025
