Cinnamon Shore Makes Annual List of Top Weekend Getaways

Texas Highways Magazine welcomed the new year by sharing a curated list of must-see lodging options from across the state. “Where to Stay in 2025” was the feature article of the January/February 2025 issue of the magazine. Cinnamon Shore was honored to be included in this exclusive roster!

As the state’s official travel magazine, Texas Highways serves as a trusted guide for travel in Texas. The publication takes readers on a tour of the state’s cities and towns, exposing hidden gems, highlighting natural wonders, and sharing insider-level knowledge that benefits out-of-state visitors and local natives alike.

Film Worthy Aesthetic

The article showcased 20 ‘new or recently revamped’ accommodations in Texas deemed worthy of visiting. Cinnamon Shore took the spotlight in the ‘South Texas’ section of the article! Bright and colorful photography featuring a couple strolling along our boardwalk and a row of sun-drenched, pastel homes neighboring our grassy dunes evoked a sense of cheerful nostalgia.

This imagery paired perfectly with author Emily Roberts Stone’s description of Cinnamon Shore as “a resort community with the timeless charm of Dirty Dancing’s Mountain Lake Lodge.”

Transported in Time

Cinnamon Shore seems to conjure sentimental feelings in others as well. The article highlights the experience of long-time community member, Haley Kinney, whose family has been vacationing at The Shore for over a decade. 

“It feels like the 1950s where everyone knows everybody,” Kinney says. “You get to know people and have fun; you can hang out at someone’s house or go to the pool. It’s very quaint but also a sophisticated, ritzy place to go.”
